If Heaven were October

I took this photo in October at the John James Audubon State Park located on the banks of the Ohio River just north of Henderson, Kentucky, my native state. The tranquil beauty of this park was enhanced by the colorful autumn foliage and the stillness broken only by the crackling of dead leaves underfoot. It inspired this poem:

If Heaven were October
I would not mind to die
and spend my days
in autumn haze
wandering through the sky.

Linda--I love the photo. We missed the really pretty colors on this trip, but Kentucky seemed to be right in the middle of the season. Lovely. Your poem is perfect for this photo--maybe I'll drag out my Poem Pen one day, and try my hand once more. Mine just turn out silly, though. Thanks--Celia

    Hi Linda,
I brought this up on my computer while I had my afternoon cup of coffee. I enjoyed the scenery. And the poem gave me a moment of meditation. Thanks for Sharing

Thank you Danielle, Celia, and Lynda for your posts. Autumn is my favorite time of the year and also my most productive, I've observed. I guess we have "peak" seasons as well as peak times of the day.
