Perky 24 year old police dispatcher, Sarah Murphy, is held captive by images of her past. She doesn't trust men and is determined to hold onto her heart at all costs. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Dylan Eldredge of the Hampton Police Department believes she’s the woman God has intended for him and is equally determined to have her for his wife. Will he be able to prove he’s the man for her?
Review:
This is a wonderful story of forgiveness and growth!
I liked Sarah’s character but felt bad that she is unable to trust men because of her past experiences. She is denying herself the fullness of a loving relationship.
Dylan is a great character who is a Christian man looking for the right Christian woman to be as his life partner. He senses that Sarah could be “the one” if only he can get her to spend time with him and get to know him instead of withdrawing at every opportunity.
This story has a wonderful message that points out that unforgiveness can poison a life and make one miss the joy that God offers! Although the story is short, it has well developed characters and a good plotline that incorporates the inspirational message. If you have every struggled with anger and forgiving, you should read this little treasure and find help for living “by the book!” I’m choosing to rate this as a keeper because it is one of those books that you might need to read every once in a while to help you remember the message!
