There has never been a hint of romance between long time buddies, Sara Sampson and Buck Weston--at least not as far as Sara knows. Buck, on the other hand, has wrestled with his strong feelings for her for a while now. Only his fear of losing their precious friendship makes him keep his heart's desire locked deep inside the relaxed, carefree exterior.

When Sara's father dies and stipulates in his will that she must marry Buck's older brother, Cord, or lose her life's goal--controlling interest of the Cattle Enterprise that is the Double B--Buck's left with two choice: risk his heart and best friend by telling Sarah how he feels or stand by and watch the love of his life marry his brother in order to secure what she has worked so hard to earn.

Will Sara choose to marry for love of the land or will she wake up in time to realize the one man who's always had her back, also has her heart?

Review:

Wow! This is a real sizzler. I had to keep stopping to cool down. The story is nicely paced, not too slow but not so fast that I couldn’t savor the scenes and character development.

The deepening awareness of the heroine Sara for the hero Buck is handled beautifully and the sexual tension between the pair drew me in and kept me reading avidly. This is hot-chili spicy with quite lengthy love scenes- but this worked for me as they are well set in context, contained, not spread throughout the whole story and they help to move the plot forward.

I like Sara and could empathize/ identify with her but I have to admit I really fell in love with Buck. Mmmmmm-what a great hero. I had no doubts about his ability to be a good match for Sara, sexy and strong, yet tender. I want one too!

I did wonder why Sara and Cord didn’t just refuse to marry, then when Cord inherited her part of the ranch simply deed it back to her. Did I miss something there or was this a gap in the plot? Either way the story still worked for me- being successful because of the characterisation, developing relationships and great dialogue. I thoroughly recommend it! An engaging, sensual read and I can’t wait for the next one in this series.

Thank you for the amazing review! I'm so very glad you loved Sara and Buck as much as I do.

As for the plot hole about the will; its so very difficult to think of all angles when coming up with a believable "you have to marry to save the family ranch" story in the modern day. I apologize for this oversight and maybe I can somehow make it right in one of the next books in this 6 book series.

I'm so glad the hot love scenes and my hero kept you reading despite my plot oops.

The second in this series; the story of Tyler and Beth comes out Thanksgiving 2008. Watch www.thewildrosepress.com for the release of "The Cowboy Comes Home".

You'll also want to watch next spring for "Trouble in Texas" when Charli Boyd gets to be the heroine. If you thougth Buck and Sara's story was hot, wait until this red head takes center stage!

Thanks for reading and supporting me!
