* BLOG AND REVIEW DISCLOSURE - PLEASE NOTE: BETWEEN THE LINES AND BETWEEN THE PAGES BLOGS AND THEIR REVIEWERS DO NOT RECEIVE PAY FOR BOOK REVIEWS. WE DO SOMETIMES RECEIVE FREE REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY COPIES FROM AUTHORS, PUBLISHERS, AND PUBLICISTS. OUR FIRST RESPONSIBILITY IS TO OUR READERS. WE ARE COMMITTED TO HONEST REVIEWS.

To comply with the recent FTC ruling over whether or not I make a financial killing on the material I blog about, books I review, or the books I spotlight in various venues on my blog, here is my disclosure.

  • First, let me say, I haven’t found anyone willing to pay me for a review yet, and to be honest, I hadn’t thought about doing that until the FTC came up with this new way to torture me.
  • There are no paid promotional spots offered on this blog. I do encourage authors to offer free copies of their books to be given away to my blog readers. But as yet, I haven’t personally found a way to make money on a free book that I never receive. I’ll have to give that some thought also. Evidently, the FTC knows of some loophole I’m too dumb to catch.
  • I do a lot of Twittering, Facebooking, Myspacing, and…Geez! I’m probably missing another great way to extort money from my blog followers. Got to look into that!
  • I must have the most disloyal, ungrateful, stingiest, or destitute blog followers because none of them have sent me any gifts in exchange for spotlighting or reviewing their books. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, just stating facts. But, as a side note, I love presents wrapped in purple paper with silver bows.
  • All books/products/movies/music I review on this blog that I receive free will be noted at the bottom of my reviews.
  • Just because I’m not smart enough to get paid for doing what I love to do, and will continue to do, doesn’t have an impact on my giving a positive or stinky review, endorsement, suggestion, recommendation, or anything else the FTC can come up with.
  • One more thing, I have been approached by the CIA, FBI, OPTC, TAID, PTA, MADD, TING, BING, WING-DING and a zillion other interest groups soliciting your email addresses. Sad to say, nobody is paying for those either. Therefore, they’re all in a secure email account until these guys cough up some big bucks…
  • I am an Amazon Associate Member

Hopefully, the above disclosure clears up anymisunderstanding you may have about my blog. If not, you may email me at btlblog@lyndacoker.com. I’m sure I cannever have too many emails, just in case…
